Your apps run on a battery.

Group the apps you want to use less. Each group gets a battery that drains as you use it and recharges while you’re away. Not a blocker — a budget.

How it works

Spend your attention on purpose

1

Make a battery

Pick the apps you want to use less — social, games, video — and choose a preset: Saver, Standard or Extended.

2

Use them, watch it drain

Open one of those apps and its battery starts draining. Warnings give you a nudge before you run low.

3

Recharge by stepping away

Time away refills the battery. Hit 0% and the apps shield until it recovers — or use your emergency unlock.

Features

Gentler than a wall, firmer than willpower

Everything is built around one idea: a limit you can feel filling and emptying is one you’ll actually keep.

One battery per habit

Give each group of apps its own battery, size and recharge speed. Start from a preset and tune from there.

Shields at 0%

When a battery empties, its apps shield using Apple’s Screen Time. Start again when you’ve recharged.

Emergency unlock

Need in anyway? Take it — at a cost you set, like a short countdown. A speed bump, not a wall.

Schedules & days off

Lock or fast-drain a battery at certain times, and take a day off when you need one.

Widgets & Live Activities

See your battery on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, and start a session right from the shield.

Progress that’s honest

Streaks, goal-vs-actual and a yearly Wrap, built from your own sessions — nothing else.

Accountability partner

Let one friend know when you run out or take an emergency unlock. Optional, and only if you set it up.

Private by design

iOS never tells Recharge which apps you picked. No ads, no trackers, no selling data.

Podcast mode

Shielding an app stops its audio. Podcast mode lets your chosen apps play, on your terms.

Recharge is free with one battery. Recharge Plus adds unlimited batteries, tuning, widgets & Live Activities, Podcast mode, Days off and themes.

FAQ

Questions, answered

No — it’s a budget. A blocker says no all day. Recharge gives each group of apps an amount of use and lets you spend it however you like. Only when a battery hits 0% do its apps shield, until you recharge by staying away or use your emergency unlock.

No. iOS never tells Recharge the names of the apps you pick — it only hands over a sealed token we can’t open. We don’t track you, run ads, or sell data. Read the Privacy Policy.

Recharge is free to start with one battery. Recharge Plus is an optional subscription that adds unlimited batteries, tuning, widgets and Live Activities, Podcast mode, Days off and more. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe, and you can cancel any time in your App Store subscriptions.

Yes. Every shield has an emergency unlock. You choose what it costs — a short countdown, for instance — so it’s a speed bump, not a wall.

An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Recharge uses Apple’s Screen Time technology, so you’ll be asked to grant that permission the first time.

Your batteries, schedules and history sync when you sign in with Apple. The list of apps in a battery can’t sync — iOS keeps that selection private to each device — so you pick them once per device.
